Blessed are the Peacemakers

The coming of the Christmas season offers us a chance to reflect and hopefully make some changes. Two weeks ago (during the second Sunday of Advent) we spent a great deal of time talking about these verses:

Live in harmony with one another.
Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position.
Do not be conceited. Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody.
If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.
Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: "It is mine to avenge; I will repay," says the Lord.
On the contrary: "If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head."
Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
Romans 12:16-21

You were challenged to think of someone in your life (past or present) that you are not "at peace" with, and to write to them in an effort to be a peacemaker. We wrote Christmas cards, and although you may not have sent your card, I still encourage you to make peace. Below is a link to an online greeting card service that may help you on your way to becoming a peacemaker.

Catholic Greetings

Remember, as much as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. You cannot control how others receive the peace you offer, just as not everyone accepted what Jesus offered, but you can stand blameless before God knowing you did what you could to be at peace.

Have a blessed Christmas!
